Lille Herbern – the hidden gem of Oslo

It was a warm, beautiful Saturday night in Oslo. I had one of my best friends from Finland visiting me for the weekend with her boyfriend.

Such a special occation requires a special dinner as well, right?

Luckily, my boyfriend had gotten a tip of a perfect place for us; Lille Herbern, a small restaurant on a tiny island just outside of Bygdøy, so close, yet far away, that you have to take a one minute boat-ride to get to the island.

The restaurant has a changing menu based on what’s in season, but it focuses on especially different kinds of sea food, which feels fitting for the atmosphere.

And the place itself is just beautiful, with an amazing view to the sea. I just couldn’t imagine a more perfect place to enjoy a dinner with friends on a warm summer night.

And that is excactly what we did, so much so that I forgot to take any better pictures of the place. I guess the only option is to go check it out yourself when you’re in town! 😉
